Warming drinks to cure the winter blues
With winter in full swing and many a gloomy evening ahead, it’s important to take time to relax and get rid of those chills. A hot, tasty drink is the perfect way to accompany a cosy evening in your dressing gown and slippers, warming the heart and helping you unwind.
Hot Chocolate with cinnamon
Happiness in a mug! Forget counting calories; just enjoy the rich coca tones and warming cinnamon spice, sure to help any chocolate lover forget their troubles.
- 100g of milk chocolate
- ¾ dcl of whipped cream
- Ground cinnamon
Break the chocolate into pieces and place into a pot. Pour in the whipped cream and melt on low heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth. The SoftMelt feature on our hobs is perfect for this. At the end, add a pinch of ground cinnamon and stir again. Pour into a large mug and decorate with cinnamon sticks or other seasonal touches.
Ginger tea with honey and lemon
Ginger, lemon and honey make a delightful combination, perfect for warming the insides and clearing the sinuses. Drinking lemon and ginger tea every morning is a great way to start the day. Not only is it refreshing and easy to prepare, it also known to help with nausea, headaches and the common cold.
- 1l water
- 3tbsp peeled and freshly grated ginger
- 4tbsp of honey
- 30ml of lemon juice
Peel the ginger root and grate finely. Bring a pan of water to the boil, add the ginger and simmer for 10 minutes on a low heat. If you'd like the tea to have a milder taste, simply put the ginger into the boiling water, turn off the heat and let it sit for 10 minutes. After the tea has cooled down, add the honey and lemon juice and stir until infused. Inhale the healing vapour and enjoy!
