Tim to swim for Marie Curie
Gorenje is proud to support regional sales manager Tim Taylor as he prepares to swim one and a half kilometres to raise money for Marie Curie later this month.
The aptly named “Swimathon” is a national fundraising initiative which takes place across the country from 17 - 19 April, and encourages swimmers to head to their local swimming pool and take on numerous long distance challenges.
Tim, who has raised money for a variety of charities in the past, has been training hard for the event.
“I think it’s going to be quite difficult for me as I’ve not really taken part in anything quite so physically challenging before, but I’m confident I can do it.”
Tim hopes to raise a minimum of £180, a target which he is already close to reaching.
“I think people forget that there is more to life than just surviving. Being able to lead a comfortable and dignified life is like gold dust to someone who already has to deal with a life-threatening illness like cancer. To this end, Marie Curie continues to help so many people live happier lives despite the obstacles that are thrown in their way.”
Can you help Tim reach (and hopefully exceed) his goal by donating and sharing his fundraising page? Every little helps!
