#SimpleFacts food board – Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Peanut Butter
When it comes to sweet combinations in the kitchen, we’re often either reserved with our choices when watching the waist line or we throw caution to the wind and fully indulge our temptations. When you get to this culinary conundrum, which path do you take? For us, it’s a no-brainer – you’ll find us descending into decadence, luxury and indulgence with our mouths watering and our arms outstretched!

Our dessert dreams are all about the holy trinity of indulgent ingredients – chocolate, salted caramel and peanut butter.

Now, you may be wondering “how can I enjoy the joyous union of these three ingredients, packed with all the sickly sweetness, velvety texture and subtle salty notes I could ever ask for in one delicious dessert?”

Here’s five answers.

Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Peanut Butter Truffles: The word truffle immediately evokes luxury and combining our three key ingredients in a bite-sized treat is one of the most addictive ways to enjoy a sweet. Start by blending dates with the salted caramel so it forms a thick paste and spoon small dollops onto a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper. Then add some runny peanut butter before dipping in melted chocolate and placing in the fridge to set.

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Bars with Salted Caramel Drizzle: For soft, chewy and fuss-free snack bars, simply add melted butter, 1 egg, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla and 1 cup of flour and stir until all the ingredients are combined. Then stir in the chocolate chips and peanut butter, and transfer the batter to a baking tray before baking.

Salted Caramel-Chocolate-Peanut Butter Pie: For a hearty dessert, fit for all the family, there’s nothing better than a pie for everyone to get stuck into! For this pie, fill a pre-made pastry crust with a mixture of melted caramel, milk and peanuts. Then mix a beaten egg, condensed milk and peanut butter, before layering over the caramel mixture and you’re ready to bake.

Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies: A batch of warm, gooey brownies, fresh out of the oven is one of life’s great little pleasures. How could you ever improve such a delight? You could mix in some peanut butter and provide the finishing touch with a liberal lashing of salted caramel, of course!

Salted Caramel Mocha Smoothie: It doesn’t all have to be about desserts though. If you’re a fan of kicking off the day with a smoothie, try out this treat. Simply blend cold coffee, milk, frozen banana, chocolate powder, peanut butter and a drizzle of salted caramel and you’re ready to bounce out of the door.
